F.A.Q.
What is Raw Hair?
Raw hair is exactly as the name implies; raw, unprocessed, 100% human hair. This means it has not undergone any chemical, heat, or steam processing, and comes from one donor. Raw hair is the purest and most natural form of hair available in today's market. Raw hair quality is top-notch, and it can literally last you years.
The only true downside to raw hair is the limited variety and availability. When it comes to raw hair, manufacturers source the hair directly from donors, and then the hair undergoes a rigorous sanitizing process. Most donors are from India, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Burma.
The beauty and the beast of raw hair is that no two bundles are the same. While they won't be vastly different from one another, they will never be identical, and this is because the hair is not steamed to show uniform patterns.
What is Virgin Hair?
Virgin is a term for a type of hair that has never been chemically processed. Chemically processed hair is hair that has been color-treated, permed, relaxed, bleached, or dyed. In today's market, real virgin hair is defined as hair that has only undergone steam processing. Steam processing, or steaming, allows for the creation of those uniform and unique styles like:
- Body Wave
- Deep Wave
- Mink / Silky Straight
- Italian Curl / Spanish Wave
- Kinky Curl / Kinky Straight / 4C Afro Kinky
- Tight Curl
- Curly Wave / Loose Wave / Natural Wave
- Bomb Blonde, and so much more.
Raw or Virgin? Which Hair Is Better?
This is what you need to know...
It's truly a matter of preference! Ask yourself, do you like the slightly coarser, more natural advantage that raw hair provides? Or do you want the silky textures and patterns that virgin hair offers? There are pros and cons to each, but purchasing from Elite Extensions ensures a quality product, regardless. Good hair is great hair, whether raw or virgin.
How Long Will My Hair Last?
Virgin hair can typically last 12-18 months with proper care. Raw hair can last 2-3 years with proper care.

How Much Hair Will I Need?
This particular question is very common, and we have the exact answer you're looking for.
We recommend 3 bundles for a full install if the lengths being used are shorter than 20 inches. 4 bundles are recommended for hair measuring 22-30 inches. We recommend 5 bundles for lengths 30 inches or longer. When using a lace frontal and closure, you may not need as many bundles, and can use between a half bundle to a full bundle less than what is mentioned above. Keep in mind that for a full, voluminous look, we recommend these amounts in addition to the closure or frontal.
